These terms are an agreement between you and apeporuwa.lk ("apé poruwa", "we") covering
the apé poruwa mobile apps (including the watch companions), the planner web app, the guest
invitation experience, and this website (together, "the service"). By creating an account —
or, as a guest, by using an invitation link — you agree to them. We've kept them in plain
language on purpose; the plain meaning is the intended one.
1. The service & pricing
apé poruwa helps you plan a wedding: guest lists, RSVPs, seating, budgets, tasks,
schedules, and live check-in on the day. The service is currently
free while you plan. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll say so
clearly and up front — nothing you already built will be held behind a surprise paywall,
and we'll give you notice and a choice before anything changes for your wedding.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. Keep control of that identity — everything done
through your account is treated as done by you.
You must be at least 18 to create an account.
Guests never need accounts. A guest under 18 may use their invitation link with a
parent or guardian's permission — the parent or guardian accepts these terms on their
behalf.
One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone or claim an invitation addressed
to someone else's email.
Your wedding is yours. You own the content you and your collaborators
put into apé poruwa — guest lists, photos, budgets, card designs, all of it. You give us
only the licence we need to run the service: to store, process, back up, and display your
content to the people you've shared it with, and to generate the outputs you ask for
(invitation cards, exports, calendar invites). That licence ends when your content is
deleted.
We don't use your content for advertising, don't sell it, and don't use it to train AI
models.
4. Other people's information
Building a guest list means entering other people's details. By doing so you confirm
you have a legitimate reason (inviting them) and that the details are accurate as far as
you know. Use guest information only for the wedding — don't export the list for
marketing, sell it, or share it beyond the people planning with you. If a guest asks you
to correct or remove their details, do it.
5. Invitation links and codes
Guests interact through unique code links — no accounts, no passwords. That design
choice has one consequence you must understand:
anyone holding a code can act on it.
Hosts: share each guest's link with that guest. Don't post invitation links or
group-share links publicly.
Guests: your link is your ticket — pass it around and someone else could RSVP or
check in as you.
If a link leaks, the host can fix it: removing the guest's seat and seating them
again issues a fresh code (the guest simply RSVPs again), and group share codes can be
regenerated.
6. Content rules
apé poruwa is for weddings. Whether you're a host uploading gallery photos and card
designs or a guest adding photos to the couple's album, you agree not to post content
that:
is sexually explicit, or depicts nudity outside ordinary celebration photography;
is violent, threatening, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory;
exploits or endangers a minor in any way;
infringes someone else's copyright or other rights (only upload photos you took or
have permission to share);
is illegal under Sri Lankan law or the law where you are;
is spam, advertising, or content unrelated to the wedding it's posted to.
The couple (and their planner) may delete any photo from their wedding, for any reason
— it's their wedding. We may remove content that breaks these rules wherever we find it.
7. Reports, moderation & enforcement
Report: any guest photo can be reported in the app, and you can
always email report@apeporuwa.lk.
We review reports promptly — our target is within 24 hours.
Copyright: if content on the service infringes your copyright —
wedding photographers included — email
report@apeporuwa.lk with the content and proof
it's yours. We treat takedown requests with the same urgency as content reports.
Removal & blocking: we may remove violating content and block
the contributor from posting further content to that event.
Event moderation: apé poruwa is for weddings only. Events used for
anything else may be flagged, suspended (planning is paused but you can still read your
data and put things right), or — for clear abuse — removed. Moderation actions on your
event are visible in your event's own activity log.
Account enforcement: serious or repeated violations can end your
account (section 13).
8. After the wedding
apé poruwa is a planning tool, not a permanent archive. After your last ceremony date
passes, your event is archived and then permanently deleted 30 days later,
as described in the Privacy Policy. We warn every
collaborator when the countdown starts, and the couple can download their full photo and
media archive during it. Download anything you want to keep — deletion is permanent.
9. Third-party services
Sign-in is provided by Google and Apple under their terms. Venue search suggestions are
provided by Google. Sharing invitations over WhatsApp (or anywhere else) happens in that
app, under its terms — apé poruwa never accesses your WhatsApp account or messages.
10. The vendor directory
The vendor directory is a shared, community-contributed catalogue of wedding vendors.
A "verified" badge means our staff checked that the listing looks like a real, relevant
business — it is not an endorsement, guarantee, or recommendation. Your
bookings, payments, and dealings with any vendor are strictly between you and them. If
you contribute a vendor listing, the content rules apply, and the
listing becomes part of the shared catalogue once verified.
11. Our intellectual property
The apé poruwa name, logo, apps, design, and code are ours. We give you a personal,
non-transferable licence to use the apps and website for planning and attending weddings.
Don't copy, resell, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service, and don't use our brand in a
way that suggests we endorse you.
12. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
We work hard to make apé poruwa dependable on the one day that can't be re-run — but
the service is provided "as is", and we can't promise it will be
uninterrupted or error-free. In particular:
RSVP counts, headcounts, and budget figures reflect what was entered — confirm your
final numbers with your venue directly before you commit to them.
We are not a party to your contracts with hotels, vendors, or anyone else.
Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable (exports and the media archive are
built in for exactly this).
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of
the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim
(which, while the service is free, is zero), and we are not liable for indirect or
consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be
excluded.
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop any time: leave an event, or delete your account
(how deletion works).
We can suspend or terminate accounts or events that violate these
terms, harm other users, or abuse the service. Except where it would be unsafe or
unlawful, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to put it right — suspension pauses
changes but leaves your data readable for exactly that reason.
Sections about content ownership, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive
termination.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka,
and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
15. Changes to these terms
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and notify you in the
app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the
updated terms; if you don't, you can export your data and delete your account.
